<span style="font-size: large;">As you are probably aware time is even more precious when you have grandchildren. Love spending time with my sweet baby Leila but there is not a lot of time left over to fill in my blogging friends. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I finally found time to finish a project! Ta da, and as you may have guessed it is for none other than my sweet baby granddaughter. I wanted to make something unique for her wall and I came up with the following. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNmmuErCobG9FRcRBCBQOth255kyGTHPlWf5HmqwoKXxrf2KJF6ROIrBDWcm_ULQzKXfUZefo7Jv8fW5mCcOQblCnXIr5ts2ZDdctQpwuAry1DmeQ0Cb3Id-0vH5LrtCITQTZWbgvOjcs/s1600/whole+canvas.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNmmuErCobG9FRcRBCBQOth255kyGTHPlWf5HmqwoKXxrf2KJF6ROIrBDWcm_ULQzKXfUZefo7Jv8fW5mCcOQblCnXIr5ts2ZDdctQpwuAry1DmeQ0Cb3Id-0vH5LrtCITQTZWbgvOjcs/s320/whole+canvas.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I started with an 8 x 11 and half inch canvas, added a layer of guesso, used up my old chipboard letters to form her name, added some puffy 3d scrolly stickers as accents in the corners. And started adding layer after layer after layer of inks, sprays paints (really anything I could spread around this canvas to get the violet to teal background that you see peeking through here.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH_g4ocuJjdvrAi4YmTMaaps3XB3nIxC8AGTe936363A9Vgv23DUKVChm86B9O1OdtH4ff1Uuz-e5NOZ03RoH61WyrYbNRZ_u6iTPaqJJW7TeLH1dHXGGfkV8WLuPLJpqVtEZIsoVaojw/s1600/bottom+left+scrollwork.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH_g4ocuJjdvrAi4YmTMaaps3XB3nIxC8AGTe936363A9Vgv23DUKVChm86B9O1OdtH4ff1Uuz-e5NOZ03RoH61WyrYbNRZ_u6iTPaqJJW7TeLH1dHXGGfkV8WLuPLJpqVtEZIsoVaojw/s320/bottom+left+scrollwork.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I then took some modeling pasted and colored it with some perfect pearls to get a rich golden color. Taking a stencil with some journaling I added a little different layer of dimension adding that in the middle. This also lended a little richness from the gold. On top of that I added a metal heart ornament (about 6" in diameter) over the top to soften that look.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhr5zNqV5pyhtJfkY2RdaKHqcff00rWPENBFSXD1dtxdncrSmyuRUQQpUnLsq-1jr7GkxOBKG53dA08k5bfZ-wDpkLjcVsP-rc-TqFgmQd76Tmhp75j5SyV_wGJ7f2Lz8sllDTrG2GRc7U/s1600/close+up+crown+and+wings.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhr5zNqV5pyhtJfkY2RdaKHqcff00rWPENBFSXD1dtxdncrSmyuRUQQpUnLsq-1jr7GkxOBKG53dA08k5bfZ-wDpkLjcVsP-rc-TqFgmQd76Tmhp75j5SyV_wGJ7f2Lz8sllDTrG2GRc7U/s320/close+up+crown+and+wings.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I wanted to add a little guardian angel quality somewhere on the canvas and I did that by taking a I am roses gardenia that I colored to coordinate with my H2O's highlighting it with a set of Angel wings from Tim Holtz and topping it off with a beautiful crown charm that I picked up from Mon Ami Gabie.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I finished it off by making some roses using my Donna Salazar die and adding dimension some hand painting highlights and I think the results are worthy of hanging on my little Leilas room. </span></div>

Good Morning all,<br />
<br />
As you know from my last post life has been very full lately with the arrival of our first grandchild, beautiful princess Leila, and spring has finally arrived here in the midwest so I have been doing alot of work outdoors. But I did manage to steal a day away in my studio to play with some new products that I recently purchased.<br />
<br />
I just wanted to do a quick post to show you my latest favorite product. Luminarte twinkling H2O water colors. They come in a variety of colors<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHsrmYp9E-WFhv1VLPfDJaZgriF1MtbA4FQqnrdVx8IWSrNYLmIsf5De34BG46dlmvjtWT77kMnh3kiMOhLuN-74YqB1AR2ZZFlMOF1HBrIQl2_hYVJkiR0XsVSWLu3lEpXTNpNsuY6Rs/s1600/h20s.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" mwa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHsrmYp9E-WFhv1VLPfDJaZgriF1MtbA4FQqnrdVx8IWSrNYLmIsf5De34BG46dlmvjtWT77kMnh3kiMOhLuN-74YqB1AR2ZZFlMOF1HBrIQl2_hYVJkiR0XsVSWLu3lEpXTNpNsuY6Rs/s320/h20s.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
And they are blended with beautiful Mica powders so the colors are brilliant.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUF4f-QZoShBj-4B03q60KsUxo5LRn4K7uuqkqARy6fDeU7mIhLF85VfihAXY45efPkQads9QsJMqqqGPNO9CIF5l4yIlsMU2BNEvX5JbqO49plnS5rGoK3_QomMDmNKeTqGOLQGkLvD8/s1600/all+tags.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" mwa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUF4f-QZoShBj-4B03q60KsUxo5LRn4K7uuqkqARy6fDeU7mIhLF85VfihAXY45efPkQads9QsJMqqqGPNO9CIF5l4yIlsMU2BNEvX5JbqO49plnS5rGoK3_QomMDmNKeTqGOLQGkLvD8/s320/all+tags.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Pair this with some new stamps from Rangers and Rubberneckers and the creativity starts flowing. </div>

Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted anything since November of last year. I have been so caught up in my world that I have failed to update anything. Well, it's spring and that's a time for everything to be woken up from the long winter (which unfornately is still in my back yard) But I want to start out this blog post with a wonderful little gift I was recently given by my daughter Rachael and her fiance Chris. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkxLvFRuAZeEAD-JsuXvNFXZEGB1Trrc-4mXJhvS4PQjmIFN6Phaas3VK-DoUMZXyM4kgl1LzhRagiM5WvplpLIk3F-9lTj2BRAaVX5CvxMMHqN642VjnbG-J4SimlBUwGCc7wRiGt1uo/s1600/Leila.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" lwa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkxLvFRuAZeEAD-JsuXvNFXZEGB1Trrc-4mXJhvS4PQjmIFN6Phaas3VK-DoUMZXyM4kgl1LzhRagiM5WvplpLIk3F-9lTj2BRAaVX5CvxMMHqN642VjnbG-J4SimlBUwGCc7wRiGt1uo/s320/Leila.JPG" width="180" /></a></div>
My first granddaughter Leila Mckenzie. She is very beautiful and will be featured in many upcoming posts.<br />
<br />
Now onto my first Leila project. A while ago I bought a pattern from Laura Denison at <a href="http://followingthepapertrail.blogspot.com/">http://followingthepapertrail.blogspot.com/</a> to make a wardrobe that housed a very cute little mini album at the front. and here is what I came up with. Please note I do not follow directions very well so I usually use the patterns for inspiration so this is very much my interpretation of Laura's beautiful design.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjamYIVYOId5xqDMPwnGKRZmd_vVYcndUx3pBTvt_9sVDvOVIJXht3P5t9amLJT6ZTB1MyxQh0yGhjqmE8sTexDuc12TWAfvmPSPTxpjYnqtiPjMOr4YWMxGj1wd3f9PC5O3jdQkCil9E4/s1600/front.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" lwa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjamYIVYOId5xqDMPwnGKRZmd_vVYcndUx3pBTvt_9sVDvOVIJXht3P5t9amLJT6ZTB1MyxQh0yGhjqmE8sTexDuc12TWAfvmPSPTxpjYnqtiPjMOr4YWMxGj1wd3f9PC5O3jdQkCil9E4/s320/front.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The front - I covered the case with this luxurious black velvet paper that I get from Michaels that I love. I then criss-crossed some beautiful pink satin ribbon and glued these pretty pink ribbon roses on each intersection.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXONsGoV2iKLB-T9R1GiQToasFgnInLALB9ll-hBsSblHNYJ6UUpeOw1tlmoh5pSN_zSbQoBVmgGJhsTpNoHYVMw5N4LoRYAif0vKE1tSzPUe6g1Z5_z7xJVB8-WsvopnW8y1cUfW8Ubk/s1600/side+view.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" lwa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXONsGoV2iKLB-T9R1GiQToasFgnInLALB9ll-hBsSblHNYJ6UUpeOw1tlmoh5pSN_zSbQoBVmgGJhsTpNoHYVMw5N4LoRYAif0vKE1tSzPUe6g1Z5_z7xJVB8-WsvopnW8y1cUfW8Ubk/s320/side+view.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The side view - Laura is genious at taking ordinary cardstock adding some ink, a little distressing and some highlighting and creating pieces that look like they are made out of leather or other fabrics.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijY65UYttaxfogvLoM22MzjN0E0v1E8ChsGEp2qG5GvHar_wEUx-biGK8qfDHzI7gahaPP3ukMoGHrAtErySKY0dz4PohKQZ4OLEP_UyvU71gIE1Jc9C62o6HOVwN-oz_GF2RAoO-Mgfc/s1600/left+inside+view.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" lwa="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijY65UYttaxfogvLoM22MzjN0E0v1E8ChsGEp2qG5GvHar_wEUx-biGK8qfDHzI7gahaPP3ukMoGHrAtErySKY0dz4PohKQZ4OLEP_UyvU71gIE1Jc9C62o6HOVwN-oz_GF2RAoO-Mgfc/s320/left+inside+view.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
The inside view - this is where this project not only transforms into a perpetual calendar but houses 12 monthly tags that I created to mark each month.<br />

I would like to start todays post just saying thank you to all of our military personnel and their family members. What you do for our country is priceless and appreciated. And now onto this weeks project. As you can see my previous blog entry was the first half of this project. This page was really inspired by som Mon Ami roses.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4KlQTWGhPc37Ky-HbWmJ2yhJMoxgb-EaHg30mljA0CCQOSCaWmCOM_YSG47dXQi63MkEPm6hgVaTxOCuZxJ8yVawFaNXKt2YdYKXiGmBnSO4ILN2qp5Z8M95npwj4PpM7MHPp70I-NGg/s1600/scrapbook+048.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4KlQTWGhPc37Ky-HbWmJ2yhJMoxgb-EaHg30mljA0CCQOSCaWmCOM_YSG47dXQi63MkEPm6hgVaTxOCuZxJ8yVawFaNXKt2YdYKXiGmBnSO4ILN2qp5Z8M95npwj4PpM7MHPp70I-NGg/s400/scrapbook+048.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
As you can see the rich navy blue color is just gorgous and thought it would be a great way to challenge myself and come up with a layout using a blue color scheme. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFNdwralgcIYvVm4_NifQHFEJE2owFIY1Xr5D3s9_Wb8dOTYyCxEdI3FLnPPpDpANKSD4oMyAW3n-ElBC4vpQpX5JAkKMAchmHGjB-sSZOThglYh73-WIbkRmLd5QrtPC_8c8KHg88MKM/s1600/scrapbook+047.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="129" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFNdwralgcIYvVm4_NifQHFEJE2owFIY1Xr5D3s9_Wb8dOTYyCxEdI3FLnPPpDpANKSD4oMyAW3n-ElBC4vpQpX5JAkKMAchmHGjB-sSZOThglYh73-WIbkRmLd5QrtPC_8c8KHg88MKM/s320/scrapbook+047.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The other piece I used from Mon Ami was this beautiful lace that I bought at last years scrapbook expo. This lace was just so intriquete and beautiful I knew this would be perfect for this layout. I highlighted by adding a flat backed pearl to the center of each flower on the lace.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi89bUuHt2cSqhcTRgydY4a7tUPHr8JH5rPv6c0g_7NYYLqdEOS6fbQgDX_GxaYl28V3EpF2qMgVV4ETcPecruSlcHyMVFgENtgZGsJJjFLj0YLpF3txB7jYJQllLzi7IlZr4Vbn2ECaxU/s1600/scrapbook+039.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="284" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi89bUuHt2cSqhcTRgydY4a7tUPHr8JH5rPv6c0g_7NYYLqdEOS6fbQgDX_GxaYl28V3EpF2qMgVV4ETcPecruSlcHyMVFgENtgZGsJJjFLj0YLpF3txB7jYJQllLzi7IlZr4Vbn2ECaxU/s320/scrapbook+039.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The paperline I used is from Fabscraps another of my most favorite things</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3FSApsTbC1EZFxbl6PnKq4epb6K5uhvXc6LMgZH93T_3HaD_VeCg6jeWOKNAyCBzqAgbT3j2m9O2Z-XcWszC2B7P0OeEGOlfWynTms8taP6B_E9lQ76NlHrrDsyyp2ZwvGt1fF_7FT4s/s1600/scrapbook+050.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> </a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAXcSFLdUWVC5w61CY_4czp92dT2rbrAHZvkMSb3Ifhh5Xglcz_7WIqnhsML_YNywOecGOw1hkfOLyp4Eje6qLh1rLC0Bfy6L99QzCz82gTUHIsRlsa9PdhXuwDB_MEKtAnK7k5DTFmQc/s1600/scrapbook+052.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAXcSFLdUWVC5w61CY_4czp92dT2rbrAHZvkMSb3Ifhh5Xglcz_7WIqnhsML_YNywOecGOw1hkfOLyp4Eje6qLh1rLC0Bfy6L99QzCz82gTUHIsRlsa9PdhXuwDB_MEKtAnK7k5DTFmQc/s320/scrapbook+052.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I also had this beautiful feather that I thought would play into the earthiness that I wanted to bring out in this piece.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibQpiv_ISn9IFUlws7xRZSVZEWcRWQrvOmNR2iW0KRzZdh0EAnuoGeS95ZX71vUdWRrV-7fdVRwMnef5FON0cW9IQSHL4T7afSHaVmEKKv98Ih1u6JHhcvKGKpUmqt2AqxsyHrYa3hU7w/s1600/scrapbook+049.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="210" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibQpiv_ISn9IFUlws7xRZSVZEWcRWQrvOmNR2iW0KRzZdh0EAnuoGeS95ZX71vUdWRrV-7fdVRwMnef5FON0cW9IQSHL4T7afSHaVmEKKv98Ih1u6JHhcvKGKpUmqt2AqxsyHrYa3hU7w/s320/scrapbook+049.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It also allows me to tie this other embelleshment into the layout.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVyZ-xTfJAPUnT_m2wfv3dliu_B2ifOhMwMSSpqS3mmPS7DFVbtzy9lZOD_nVN4qRj2eW5Fn_Gro-y1vp7iina9BWkK6GbubYvIPweR4zYYULVuRCVnJqcOHWDz2wX3T-ApPqAezjHj9I/s1600/scrapbook+054.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVyZ-xTfJAPUnT_m2wfv3dliu_B2ifOhMwMSSpqS3mmPS7DFVbtzy9lZOD_nVN4qRj2eW5Fn_Gro-y1vp7iina9BWkK6GbubYvIPweR4zYYULVuRCVnJqcOHWDz2wX3T-ApPqAezjHj9I/s320/scrapbook+054.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
finally I needed a picture that would be dramatic enough for this layout........and I think this photo I found on Pinterest is perfect.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbvjMpCQuFqmwPj1I90Wblj0COeQghKI6DoGu9zb6EX5A_M9ep9WI4YGo75XtRkquxRcFwJmSWP37Qvo034HMBZ1Hs5VwwPQ1ln1fxgyuynLBai1_RkeEE1stpQ1he7rr_kIEOxat5Nww/s1600/scrapbook+065.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="209" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbvjMpCQuFqmwPj1I90Wblj0COeQghKI6DoGu9zb6EX5A_M9ep9WI4YGo75XtRkquxRcFwJmSWP37Qvo034HMBZ1Hs5VwwPQ1ln1fxgyuynLBai1_RkeEE1stpQ1he7rr_kIEOxat5Nww/s320/scrapbook+065.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Here is the finished piece. Thank you for stopping by and taking a look.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was in a very creative mood this week and created not 1 but layouts inspired by Pinterest. Now for all who are not familiar, Pinterest is this crazy, addicting and fabulous website, where you can put all your favorite things in one spot. Yes, I am officially back from the world of broken arms and creating up a storm. I really wanted to do something special after my longgggggggggg absense (thank you all for staying tuned) So here is a layout and details of the canvas collage that I did with my favorite pictures of my children. Enjoy.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiobSqbN_fxfqih6fW4p4YQUIJdMxbTSPH-D_b_fwAbyti7X0cBDYcwKhx0qt0rT1CASeIfLW9j4uV25iBcjJCxnqc-LWm3v-A57_s3Dm0uQvWTRcgnFZiK3KiEsP0l85QsGBB0wZFJbW8/s1600/020.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiobSqbN_fxfqih6fW4p4YQUIJdMxbTSPH-D_b_fwAbyti7X0cBDYcwKhx0qt0rT1CASeIfLW9j4uV25iBcjJCxnqc-LWm3v-A57_s3Dm0uQvWTRcgnFZiK3KiEsP0l85QsGBB0wZFJbW8/s320/020.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> The first thing I needed to do after finding the perfect photos for this projects was to balance our the hard and soft backgrounds to represent both a boy and a girl. For my son, I layered chipboard pieces that I made using 3/4" wide strips from my leftover box and cut them roughly into 1 1/4 in pieces (the rougher the edges the better the brick workl. I glued them down over the picture and then used artist paste as my mortar. After that dried I took a mixture of Starfish glimmer mist with Fired brick distress ink and painted it on using a small brust. The effect was exactly what I was going for.<br />

For my primary inspiration I used Prima's new line Romance Novel. This collection was created by a wonderful artist Marion Smith. </div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP7Xy6jPNTeAq5n7auk3zB0cTJSz6ZC4YE9ngJ0bClPlLqtvBy2Zr4TQbYtvSwAkIiWkx8cFWwv3FL92Pg130dXbNXXpDJLtQ95F9SLEPakoCBznPUUUsCTxBgzZ-h3DMPUWWLCziz_RQ/s1600/021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP7Xy6jPNTeAq5n7auk3zB0cTJSz6ZC4YE9ngJ0bClPlLqtvBy2Zr4TQbYtvSwAkIiWkx8cFWwv3FL92Pg130dXbNXXpDJLtQ95F9SLEPakoCBznPUUUsCTxBgzZ-h3DMPUWWLCziz_RQ/s320/021.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> To stay with the theme of Romance I used a technique that I created to make a rose vine running up the middle of the layout. I used a few diffterent rosebuds to make it more interesting.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0pmCYasQYyeSk1xojnSvGrF2FBlsSrOCSEwHgmLcKts-z_1FsPavxCEscI9MftPd2jjTj4C2pFcjMf4jn-_y6jYPvHM3Zc1vwwiG7nh0c3kdRdmzwV09DCTEjk70X9zGVP1rY3gpGnME/s1600/014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0pmCYasQYyeSk1xojnSvGrF2FBlsSrOCSEwHgmLcKts-z_1FsPavxCEscI9MftPd2jjTj4C2pFcjMf4jn-_y6jYPvHM3Zc1vwwiG7nh0c3kdRdmzwV09DCTEjk70X9zGVP1rY3gpGnME/s320/014.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> To really highlight this I laid out a foundation of diffterent flowers from Iamroses and Prima.<br />

<br />
I wanted to do a quickpost for all of my faithful followers to let you know the reason for my lack of a recent post. A few weeks ago I unfortunately broke my left arm which has resulted in a cast from my fingertips to my shoulder. I have been unable to get into my studio and create anything so please be patient and bear with me though this time because once this thing cones off I have alot of pent up creativity to release so watch for alot of great things to come.<br />
<br />
Thank you,<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Hello Faithful followers, it has certainly been awhile since my last post so thank you for your patience. I decided to branch out into a little different piece this time. This a multi media layout I made on canvas. I really had fun stepping out of my creative zone and learning a new technique or two. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB6wlhChC7dqqv4EOIkxZ5_CGSF8dvMWy9CR5BHoRL02ToPxtoDSmiBxlaNdOceHtZ5llfFXkwJTTryBJqEUI-g3zI31aszMmxIkfN-MmjG57eIB36vXRU1RZAlhfyXjSMLOesJ3VZcAg/s1600/peggy+wedding+184.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjB6wlhChC7dqqv4EOIkxZ5_CGSF8dvMWy9CR5BHoRL02ToPxtoDSmiBxlaNdOceHtZ5llfFXkwJTTryBJqEUI-g3zI31aszMmxIkfN-MmjG57eIB36vXRU1RZAlhfyXjSMLOesJ3VZcAg/s320/peggy+wedding+184.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>I started with a , forgive the pun, blank canvas. I added the picture I wished to focus on, added some dimension by adding the brickwork (made by cutting chipboard 1/2 by an inch or so. After allowing the glue to set up I added a paint treatment that gave a very stucco like feel to the piece. This also served to blend the picture and brickwork onto the canvas. after adding a layer of white acrylic paint coat over that I just started adding everything and anything that reminded me of my children. As you can for my daughter I added a crown (which was actually a broach I had and I just added the blue jewel for color) Because every princess needs a crown.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioyMKgdq3MeFv4q13bB-KVqIdKLzbhQuvEHLNFdbQrOIxO8wXOmeiDk3t8MCkuajicmmifXlwcKwrTlaf70K1c2aBUGN6DybCpnybHKEaYToRX8PkmuZbdgDEHXZIun4-Jvh5KBIj7RVw/s1600/peggy+wedding+188.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioyMKgdq3MeFv4q13bB-KVqIdKLzbhQuvEHLNFdbQrOIxO8wXOmeiDk3t8MCkuajicmmifXlwcKwrTlaf70K1c2aBUGN6DybCpnybHKEaYToRX8PkmuZbdgDEHXZIun4-Jvh5KBIj7RVw/s320/peggy+wedding+188.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>The piece I used to represent my son is pair of wings from the Tim Holtz Ideaology collection set together with a blue flower from Mon Ami Gabie. I like this piece so much because it will hopefully remind him always that he is my angel. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg28ELoIpw1U-YxQFis2BDsE-1V4I0mzbJOwWGfbekV7oo28x5gENxVV3HnbEzwfBFjbPeM3UXIyDmFSYUDW1Mx-YqkLcUqgoBJutcp3xdRAUj34dl33as8uFd850EkdXrYooSZZMVtV-g/s1600/peggy+wedding+186.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg28ELoIpw1U-YxQFis2BDsE-1V4I0mzbJOwWGfbekV7oo28x5gENxVV3HnbEzwfBFjbPeM3UXIyDmFSYUDW1Mx-YqkLcUqgoBJutcp3xdRAUj34dl33as8uFd850EkdXrYooSZZMVtV-g/s320/peggy+wedding+186.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">and some gears also from Tim Holtz , since I have the die to cut these now I have really had alot of fun playing with different materials. As you can see here I used cardboard</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAdxTonEVJDCem9LTjuLIC-3PJ7T4DkdhuCMWObbKKqIHgauhdGD8IPoMHRRVZ3GPVevlOcL0oaBfXw9x2l8wYeJztg2fd6lFcCNDzu0uh-rqoyVmDz7U3ZFvtU_sqOps9yLMIkIA9cZU/s1600/peggy+wedding+187.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAdxTonEVJDCem9LTjuLIC-3PJ7T4DkdhuCMWObbKKqIHgauhdGD8IPoMHRRVZ3GPVevlOcL0oaBfXw9x2l8wYeJztg2fd6lFcCNDzu0uh-rqoyVmDz7U3ZFvtU_sqOps9yLMIkIA9cZU/s320/peggy+wedding+187.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I had to add a butterfly and some feathers.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5p7kve0g96jrTZHHRxjQpwpmYBqrOvbFRg_UPD3BG7Pvj3Kk5SIInrEhHoDKGTMfILquIzpgADrTOLFTxLOiRrXFqbJ9kgtZIRFmGzsz8_3dYfwqfesQ3uz9IacdD53Og_oUglqZFVqg/s1600/peggy+wedding+185.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5p7kve0g96jrTZHHRxjQpwpmYBqrOvbFRg_UPD3BG7Pvj3Kk5SIInrEhHoDKGTMfILquIzpgADrTOLFTxLOiRrXFqbJ9kgtZIRFmGzsz8_3dYfwqfesQ3uz9IacdD53Og_oUglqZFVqg/s320/peggy+wedding+185.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
I finished it off with these cool metal corners that I found at Michaels, sorry I don't know the names right now but it is a really cool like of metal pieces that, as you can see, can be inked to match your project.<br />
<br />
Thank you for stopping by, until my next post, I will bid you auf wiedersehn.<br />

The weather was gorgeous, I got alot accomplished and I finished another layout that I have been wanting to. I am sure alot of you are like me and have that "bucket list" of projects that you want to do someday. This is one of them. My beautiful niece Lex had her junior prom and was kind enough to put her pictures out for us all to enjoy. <br />
<br />

I love exploring the sewing section in my local fabric stores to seek out and find new little ribbon roses. These came in a cluster of 3 and the I love how they look.</div><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Hello everyone, well spring has sprung in Wisconsin and my roses are just about to bloom. Something new is around every corner, so in the spirit of that, I decided to do something new. My first swap, oh I am so excited. My friend Jenny Burns, a designer from <a href="http://dustyattic.ning.com/">http://dustyattic.ning.com/</a>, has invited me to my first ATC swap. For all of you new to that an ATC stands for Artistic Trading Card. Dusty Attic is one of my favorite places to go for inspiration. They have a lot of really talented artist designing for them and I would be lying if I told you I wasn't so excited to be a part of their May ATC swap. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxr1IJAwspZ2dHweVwgIpxfF0YspiKK6JutscmqL3zQZjNd6iEU5Arrdkpd1bAo6CL81nc1N-OupoqwnxaYE4BzHSg79em15TX7QT8hDxTNqm7IjyR8F8678WnuXXUM7p7tlvITAkcHX4/s1600/atc+swap+004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxr1IJAwspZ2dHweVwgIpxfF0YspiKK6JutscmqL3zQZjNd6iEU5Arrdkpd1bAo6CL81nc1N-OupoqwnxaYE4BzHSg79em15TX7QT8hDxTNqm7IjyR8F8678WnuXXUM7p7tlvITAkcHX4/s320/atc+swap+004.JPG" width="320" /></a> The theme is vintage and I had so much fun, there is really no rules other than the cards must be 2.5 x 3.5 inches and that they must be traded never sold.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV52ckRxiIQSOMX6wPxxgfsitK3VaqnvGYjzncMhh5dBFkPF5RG26GKFvVnEWEF3mxAMxEQkAri5VmStXp_LLLinHONo267WqpDKdf_YUuMeG8A3SwrLaNRnR59lXDpWUiBXK8dp8rlrk/s1600/atc+swap+005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV52ckRxiIQSOMX6wPxxgfsitK3VaqnvGYjzncMhh5dBFkPF5RG26GKFvVnEWEF3mxAMxEQkAri5VmStXp_LLLinHONo267WqpDKdf_YUuMeG8A3SwrLaNRnR59lXDpWUiBXK8dp8rlrk/s320/atc+swap+005.JPG" width="213" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I played around with a lot of bling of course, but when I started making these I realized the Dusty Attic chippies were more than enough for them.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH4yvYJZUqmsa9Gk66jZHqZZIKLDUn94z9jVbXBbkoDLbK-5mFvGtgi32j1p3XncKuEToyVePKaxRg3Oi0E4xzZAFHpriGnIDM8QQWi99BkrjH4Htw_uU0T0-pvFNINZ5dsIbRdaa5WC0/s1600/atc+swap+006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH4yvYJZUqmsa9Gk66jZHqZZIKLDUn94z9jVbXBbkoDLbK-5mFvGtgi32j1p3XncKuEToyVePKaxRg3Oi0E4xzZAFHpriGnIDM8QQWi99BkrjH4Htw_uU0T0-pvFNINZ5dsIbRdaa5WC0/s320/atc+swap+006.JPG" width="213" /></a> I wanted to do a theme without making the same card 5 times so I took the main elements and used similiar graphics.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcxfW6NUWypBtgKWyVFNrU_ArumUWcqqXniSgUgo582JRJioBvK7KMvRaF5c1beHh7TGoxQTgCQfCm416Y8oR2A7Q3lWOjOSOaGBDWdgkgcJwojU4tulUzYSGTQiM_rriCLTRwmtSj0Q4/s1600/atc+swap+007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcxfW6NUWypBtgKWyVFNrU_ArumUWcqqXniSgUgo582JRJioBvK7KMvRaF5c1beHh7TGoxQTgCQfCm416Y8oR2A7Q3lWOjOSOaGBDWdgkgcJwojU4tulUzYSGTQiM_rriCLTRwmtSj0Q4/s320/atc+swap+007.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Well today I did a little soul searching, I am in a severe dry spell right now and I am buying more than I am creating so I was perusing one of my favorite blogs <a href="http://astridsartisticefforts.blogspot.com/">http://astridsartisticefforts.blogspot.com/</a> and she gave me the inspiration to do some tags, thank you Astrid. I just threw together (really it was more like a couple of days of heavy duty creating) and I cam up with a few ideas. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I started by gluing the flower vine in between 2 layers of flowers and I glued on some leaves and finished with a few of the beautiful blue rose buds that I found at Mon ami Gabi. I then made a mixture of a bit of perfect pearls in gold and mixed it with water, it makes such a beautiful accent paint and I had fun "painting" my flowers gold I just added hints of the gold paint here and there but it really is so much fun and it makes me feel like a real artist I love it/. This weekend was extremely busy with lots of things going on but I did manage to finish a huge project I was making for my mothers 83rd birthday. I wanted to give her something really special and I figured whats more special than a mini album full of memories. The basic design of the project was from a very amazing artist Kathy Orta and can be found at her blog <a href="http://www.paperphenomenontutorials.blogspot.com/">ttp://www.paperphenomenontutorials.blogspot.com/</a> . She always has alot of fun little pockets and places to put pictures and tags.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNbInK-aqjrJLL8GnBJ6aOD8Eo5LXXFVqj0fOStLjon_lfZSl9pGBEcCvxpLQMeRmCgDSub3dBU84AVQTDjgFQabEk5xRzj4xr6uL1DTXkZlLrkkU-BhCfUqZ41qePcf8rbJW8kRVipnw/s1600/mom+g.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNbInK-aqjrJLL8GnBJ6aOD8Eo5LXXFVqj0fOStLjon_lfZSl9pGBEcCvxpLQMeRmCgDSub3dBU84AVQTDjgFQabEk5xRzj4xr6uL1DTXkZlLrkkU-BhCfUqZ41qePcf8rbJW8kRVipnw/s320/mom+g.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
The closure I used for this was simply a magnetic clasp that I found in the jewelry department at my local Joann Fabrics attached to the cover with some suede paper straps and d rings.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqgGA6NCDpEwTK6slKS72BXLC_XtuI6kiGUsI6Ubzq5muGmXwErJrCILmMfb7Vll8eS-qRq4xEuUZA6TH6kunySyHBnMJCGa__Q_7P-cYf9MVzLon42Qve10R7kBBDayMwTBZa5xeUwNg/s1600/mom+l.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqgGA6NCDpEwTK6slKS72BXLC_XtuI6kiGUsI6Ubzq5muGmXwErJrCILmMfb7Vll8eS-qRq4xEuUZA6TH6kunySyHBnMJCGa__Q_7P-cYf9MVzLon42Qve10R7kBBDayMwTBZa5xeUwNg/s320/mom+l.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
This allowed for a space to add a chain to which I added trinkets for the bling factor that you know I love.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7BJqL_0eT0cRVg0Sh3yt52ueKiVsLPSjJx0W35y8XKXFzsEiJRqrcVbS6am1wbHmuziIAoe-cIizU1tFXB8AyvzqM5Tj23IVV5rSRPlxitjLC_F88sLOQDLB_2bKlD_WHMHYKJe3jYCI/s1600/mom+h.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7BJqL_0eT0cRVg0Sh3yt52ueKiVsLPSjJx0W35y8XKXFzsEiJRqrcVbS6am1wbHmuziIAoe-cIizU1tFXB8AyvzqM5Tj23IVV5rSRPlxitjLC_F88sLOQDLB_2bKlD_WHMHYKJe3jYCI/s320/mom+h.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>I embellished the cover with crystal scrolls and flowers. I actually found these little butterflies that look perfect on the flowers.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXv2uNMAdmhZHF9ViofEXZxmicV75Cx3RhKzIVuurIfZsIWRi2jhkui3f45u_pYtbNvXOhXA8QOCFEvCncFb3CIacNPp4qQZ_uhrdMD_P_blzEfsVwPNvi1PoHofwcKbOmaWAqUpLrAck/s1600/mom+i.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXv2uNMAdmhZHF9ViofEXZxmicV75Cx3RhKzIVuurIfZsIWRi2jhkui3f45u_pYtbNvXOhXA8QOCFEvCncFb3CIacNPp4qQZ_uhrdMD_P_blzEfsVwPNvi1PoHofwcKbOmaWAqUpLrAck/s320/mom+i.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>They were purchased from Michael's at a deep discount, they were in the dollar bin and they were on clearance 5 for a dollar, you got about 4 or 5 butterflies per package and they are quickly becoming one of my favorite embellies.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwx4eWk6dX94pjqsDP6H8xVt_UvHG7ySbpmdPKHb-TQjqLctKohu9JdaJZAjfOIdG2Dio9TfcAV6NvgtCSDcUsTAqJtpqXYrfP4VahLK6dlm7GZtkUEJhuLo_wJwYfH98aPTHJJlDvFoQ/s1600/mom+j.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwx4eWk6dX94pjqsDP6H8xVt_UvHG7ySbpmdPKHb-TQjqLctKohu9JdaJZAjfOIdG2Dio9TfcAV6NvgtCSDcUsTAqJtpqXYrfP4VahLK6dlm7GZtkUEJhuLo_wJwYfH98aPTHJJlDvFoQ/s320/mom+j.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>As you can see in this close up they really add just a touch of whimsy.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjojeATpZr8K__vpduyo3FLGRoN1BTVF3GkctOosw_vORzOHIPUbSNVq1azIkzL79wpobC-cuVmH0rYqkOkaDzNJbDTKmgpdLezjKj48ZdTZ1edlAjDtzVd0uokq0FkfyGMkb9yZgz1v3Q/s1600/mom+d.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" dea="true" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjojeATpZr8K__vpduyo3FLGRoN1BTVF3GkctOosw_vORzOHIPUbSNVq1azIkzL79wpobC-cuVmH0rYqkOkaDzNJbDTKmgpdLezjKj48ZdTZ1edlAjDtzVd0uokq0FkfyGMkb9yZgz1v3Q/s320/mom+d.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
This book really was as much fun to make as it was to look at and I learned some really cool techniques working this tutorial and would absolutely encourage anyone to go try out one of Kathys projects it was well worth the 10 or 15 dollars I paid. I can't wait to take some of the tips and incorporating them into my next project. <br />
<br />
Thanks for stopping by and looking at my latest.<br />

I use alot of them for all different reasons. I add them to gifts, I make mini albums with them and I use them to label containers. I was inspired by my sister Laurie this week because she makes such beautiful tags.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkcNsTQY8AL89_E2L4YgH0TGjnhG4sJ7GIgR_kdNgcoJPAvAeiPLE-CACvud5nb70Fg2CKt00zLDDFbkTulpMsMAlXxCdleifLi9WH1XP9Ir8bzw6RPRqgF6y8PdiifsxGAajJ45czTvQ/s1600/IMG_9858.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkcNsTQY8AL89_E2L4YgH0TGjnhG4sJ7GIgR_kdNgcoJPAvAeiPLE-CACvud5nb70Fg2CKt00zLDDFbkTulpMsMAlXxCdleifLi9WH1XP9Ir8bzw6RPRqgF6y8PdiifsxGAajJ45czTvQ/s320/IMG_9858.JPG" width="213" yda="true" /></a></div>I started with a plain manilla tag from Tim Holtz and of coursed dyed and distressed it with various distress inks and glimmer mist. On top of that I added some old fashion tags with french sayings on it that I found on Pinterest. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP0plGYEs5xXWCLj1ioUWRYVr5h5MavCvgeaFaW-XFX94pBBEEmUzwwPuMGHDgFE2cL95b5UhkamTUuNK6XBzOBxtB2sqKS0_ml3G41c2voqTerTCoIRvZlE0kIrEEDAi8UAP1rP4fgow/s1600/IMG_9860.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhP0plGYEs5xXWCLj1ioUWRYVr5h5MavCvgeaFaW-XFX94pBBEEmUzwwPuMGHDgFE2cL95b5UhkamTUuNK6XBzOBxtB2sqKS0_ml3G41c2voqTerTCoIRvZlE0kIrEEDAi8UAP1rP4fgow/s320/IMG_9860.JPG" width="213" yda="true" /></a></div><br />

How to organize all the stuff we have so that we can buy more! I have been hard at work doing some spring cleaning in my home and what better place to start but the room we all love our studio. Now I can't take credit for all the ideas and I will try to give credit where credit is do. So I hope you enjoy and can use some of my tricks. <br />

We all love them, we all use them and some of us struggle with how to store them. What I did here what take an old frame that I bought at Goodwill (not just helping the community ladies, you are also getting stuff really cheap) . I took the glass off (it will of course be recycled into something fabulous, stay tuned) I covered the insert with black velvet and added elastic going horizontially across the board. I used brads to secure it, sorry no measurements, I just eyeballed it. I then was able to store 20 bottles in this 8 X 10 frame and as an added bonus I can secure to the only free space in my room , the WALL!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheNP6NQxxoenxzw-ap4QeatPWZFtgYR3Y0bHf3y3qiGCYaqVR1cLdwxlqsFQs-K59bTtoU2AWwfDjX7XaLrZsFAjVo4nf7NvEWxSc7hdBIflTqzXeV5Z61QsnVtxeimajLXaOLaMqGFyY/s1600/IMG_9837.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheNP6NQxxoenxzw-ap4QeatPWZFtgYR3Y0bHf3y3qiGCYaqVR1cLdwxlqsFQs-K59bTtoU2AWwfDjX7XaLrZsFAjVo4nf7NvEWxSc7hdBIflTqzXeV5Z61QsnVtxeimajLXaOLaMqGFyY/s320/IMG_9837.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>2)My next problem product to store is lace and trimmings. Well, I like alot of you ladies, I say I am going to recycle everything. Since I have been hoarding (choke, choke) cardboard boxes hoping and praying that I find a use for them before my husband calls that network and I have to go on TV because I don't want to throw anything out. Ta Da, I have a use. I cut pieces to fit inside some boxes (that I recycled from my sons lego collection) and I wrap all my beads, lace, and other do dads on to the cardboard pieces. I was able to secure the pieces with rubber bands (yet another, "I know I can find a use for this somewhere" product. The result is fabulous. Not only are my pieces individually wrapped so that I don't have to spend hours unraveling but they are wrinkle free.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7GomVEqvpeaXeeFyGBOS_JHFHBmYM1DgljutmaXQXBpU-aHUjG5AWeG5fM-Xm9NS2Llb-I6B7cKvj1yJLAXWEWL8cO3P8FgomGk9WLDiOenskcvXkhgCV4Z5ta3_WxRxZx4o1tP3VgtA/s1600/IMG_9838.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7GomVEqvpeaXeeFyGBOS_JHFHBmYM1DgljutmaXQXBpU-aHUjG5AWeG5fM-Xm9NS2Llb-I6B7cKvj1yJLAXWEWL8cO3P8FgomGk9WLDiOenskcvXkhgCV4Z5ta3_WxRxZx4o1tP3VgtA/s320/IMG_9838.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>3) I used this same concept for other products such as Items 3 Tissue paper and Fabric that I use to make lovely things out of (such as flowers). I now can see all the fabric that I have collected and since I only allow so much room for these items I don't overbuy. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

She came up with a brilliant way to make foam stampers for her Tim Holtz distressed inks (sorry Tim but I love this idea and since I cannot justify buying one of your stamp holders for every color I am passing it on) She came up with a way to take a 2X2 (actually it measures 1.5 X 1.5) and cutting it down into 1.75 blocks and adding velcro and wa la you have a perfectly fitted block for each color of distress inks that you own all you have to buy are the replacement foam pads. I love, love, love this and can't thank Leann enough. She also came up with a cool idea to take doll pins clothes pins and by simply adding a makeup sponge to the rounded head with a rubber band a perfect sponge dauber to use when you are doing a smaller section. I labled all mine with the color and name and have them sitting out so they are always in reach.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGdHD38jPMHk9a89Q88jWt4fzbDKvudJyGTHtvuNHDGQiOMStXtdD7W_TzE0jcmSHoaVrRFCwaB0ldUiDcIjNtdTgnmvkcXrrhTKmFkr2x7GHb8Tcre_vpGyvJS_CYBZoSUuqr4T5QReQ/s1600/IMG_9843.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGdHD38jPMHk9a89Q88jWt4fzbDKvudJyGTHtvuNHDGQiOMStXtdD7W_TzE0jcmSHoaVrRFCwaB0ldUiDcIjNtdTgnmvkcXrrhTKmFkr2x7GHb8Tcre_vpGyvJS_CYBZoSUuqr4T5QReQ/s320/IMG_9843.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">5) Since I have been getting into using embroidery on my pages I was really struggling with how to have all my threads neatly stored. I found this one on Scrapbook.com forum and Pinterest. I bought some clothes pins at Micheal's. They have some in the dollar bins and you get 4 for a dollar and they come in really pretty colors. I simply wrapped the clothes pins with the individual colors of floss and here they are. Now not only are they out and accessible but I can see what colors I have so no more overbuying (Thank God, because there is some new Tim Holtz Idea-ology pieces I need to make room for) </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXXAfOAiiE3d391fqG5bbMR75dR-a24f4JC5oGelQI6Bu0sIvGtzozVBCDsNzgw8o-XHAAXubAN4JgDpzGZj2G_DUVKC_kDnvMt2_cA1mJ1EHJUjS9WcrYnQrqnUZhyLUAIISHp4G-VhM/s1600/IMG_9850.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXXAfOAiiE3d391fqG5bbMR75dR-a24f4JC5oGelQI6Bu0sIvGtzozVBCDsNzgw8o-XHAAXubAN4JgDpzGZj2G_DUVKC_kDnvMt2_cA1mJ1EHJUjS9WcrYnQrqnUZhyLUAIISHp4G-VhM/s320/IMG_9850.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
7) Last (for today) but certainly not least, a place for brads. I used the same technique for my brads that I did my stickles. I took an old frame added some ribbon and brads and placed all my brads and grommets into test tubes that I bought fom my local science and suplus store and make this attractive little piece that is always within reach.<br />
<br />
<br />
I hope you all found something that you can use in your space and would love to see how you made it your own. Please leave a comment I would love to hear you. Thanks for stopping by.<br />

Good Morning. I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. My work involves the stock market so I was off for Presidents day. I have been plugging away in my little "paper studio" and have a lot of really cool things to post. Todays project du jour is a little mini album I made for my niece (sadly everyone was sick so I was unable to give it to her on her recent visit) But I am sure she will love it. I wanted to keep the cover very masceline but stay true to my style so I added in alot of feathers and metal pieces along with the flowers.<br />

One difference is the closure. I actually found an idea on the web (Thank you Kathy from paper phenomenon) where you insert one of the key hole pieces inside the ornate plates from Tim Holtz Idea-ology collection and as you can see it really turns it into a statement piece. I used magnets (hidded inside the strap and the other imbedded in the book cover) to keep it secured.</div><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Hello just a quick post of my latest photo book inspired by Laura from Follow the paper trail by laura blog. She put a challenge out our youtube for Christmas and I was very inspired to make this lovely little envelope photo book for my Sister Laurie. We are always trying to one up each other and I can't wait to see what she comes up with.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK-BYq2rPmmx_-yhQFO01pxv7TAVloUcYYdmwS2oXnWYt81Lhu-787fU_5guvN1hv7Zb1-weo_HR0BKdA0Xg7A0oPDzEjSm25Jp6R2cw2Mv2KtfTqUoaTqSYZb-c9l9vH6xkVm4KPZUiw/s1600/026.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK-BYq2rPmmx_-yhQFO01pxv7TAVloUcYYdmwS2oXnWYt81Lhu-787fU_5guvN1hv7Zb1-weo_HR0BKdA0Xg7A0oPDzEjSm25Jp6R2cw2Mv2KtfTqUoaTqSYZb-c9l9vH6xkVm4KPZUiw/s320/026.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIUzDatVDu6leHn6b47ovw0a934MWVWFfiWoDScLS0k7IUxI9UreSt5mEn8g3W9xaVmJzj4rfrA5KdVftDAeZ6bkleXyn_oiWR2OItHsuPng3OjYIccyHb7S_IGpaey-7OBZPZnFq6sGc/s1600/028.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIUzDatVDu6leHn6b47ovw0a934MWVWFfiWoDScLS0k7IUxI9UreSt5mEn8g3W9xaVmJzj4rfrA5KdVftDAeZ6bkleXyn_oiWR2OItHsuPng3OjYIccyHb7S_IGpaey-7OBZPZnFq6sGc/s320/028.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Of course I added lots of sparkly things to the cover but what excited me the most is the closure. I am always trying to come up with new ways to close my books and on this one I used magnets. One magnet is on the inside of the book and the other is hidden in the band under the pink sunflower. I am trying to get a tutorial out on video to show you how I do it but since I am often inspired by other ladies on youtube I want to make sure I give everyone credit. Well here it is. my first post of the new year. I wanted a book where I showcase alot of pictures. This particular one hold 21 and room for journaling. I have gotten away from traditional scrapbook pages in the recent past and branched out into books. I like these so much because as you can see I can bling it up and it has alot of interacting parts. So thanks for being patient and waiting sooooooooooooo long for a new project. I hope you like it.<br />

Since I added most of my bling on the cover I really saved the inside of the box for pictures. As I said I can added 21 full size pictures on the inside. On each of the inside covers I added 2 5 picture fold out books. I was able to add 5 4 by 6 picures on these pieces.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpQuZPW5AXPwa02Dl4UyXktm0vSaoN85l7jUWv7RN2PhjZ24vpLt-K-Gt52Bw5Zhjq5SFH1j8Hv5Nf9Lwl0-oFlvNw1H6uKcY1ouANIgik5pxXZsynz3W9IHNmYUwm6P5NvMb8WUMF8ys/s1600/scrapbook+blog+054.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpQuZPW5AXPwa02Dl4UyXktm0vSaoN85l7jUWv7RN2PhjZ24vpLt-K-Gt52Bw5Zhjq5SFH1j8Hv5Nf9Lwl0-oFlvNw1H6uKcY1ouANIgik5pxXZsynz3W9IHNmYUwm6P5NvMb8WUMF8ys/s320/scrapbook+blog+054.JPG" width="213" /></a></div>I then made 3 pieces for the inside of the book two hidden hinge pieces that I was able to fit three photo pockets. Bcause of the size of the book and the orientation of the photos I needed to cut each photo down to 4 by 5 I used the back for journaling.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlJFe7dwFEqoZAy01dljmcJbpNtFPUvnuhX_er-bQPt6FjVMjcJSAKou56kVeHF7JMINP9hbodthG4UkuoBb1pIIH_E-1449yLARP2M49fi5yNnganB297w2tJ1IpU88gifM12bMtVb0E/s1600/scrapbook+blog+056.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlJFe7dwFEqoZAy01dljmcJbpNtFPUvnuhX_er-bQPt6FjVMjcJSAKou56kVeHF7JMINP9hbodthG4UkuoBb1pIIH_E-1449yLARP2M49fi5yNnganB297w2tJ1IpU88gifM12bMtVb0E/s320/scrapbook+blog+056.JPG" width="213" /></a></div>For the center piece I made a 2 sided photo flip album which I had room for 6 photos (altogether) 4 by 5.75 inch photos. I didn't want theses to look too busy so I only added journaling on the last flap of each side.<br />

Just kidding I didn't really go anywhere just had alot of things going on in my world. But with the urging of my wonderfully supportive husband and very great big sister I am finally uploading a new project. I hope you love it as much as I enjoyed making it. It is a paperbag book TA DA. I am calling it "I wish" because it's loaded with pictures and items from all the places I hope to explore one day. There are a lot of pictures because there is soooooooooooooo much in this book but its amazing what you can make out of brown paper bags. Enjoy.<br />
<br />

I put lots of little blingies on this because you know I love sparkly shiny things. But they also are meant to reflect the love I put in this book.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJFdeh6Lpl_AQJtN4KsPigevhaLvcIjlqgFhzyoi4ZVcJ1-LlJOoWPTWaUaSNcMESaMtfBmD6dq6LZcvF9IxQzRDTW77oBBZklah0DF5_16c0UFpR_gMrfmFY6VsqYBwlfhwaiSKUHS2A/s1600/IMG_9736.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJFdeh6Lpl_AQJtN4KsPigevhaLvcIjlqgFhzyoi4ZVcJ1-LlJOoWPTWaUaSNcMESaMtfBmD6dq6LZcvF9IxQzRDTW77oBBZklah0DF5_16c0UFpR_gMrfmFY6VsqYBwlfhwaiSKUHS2A/s320/IMG_9736.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> I made the closeure by attaching a key I bought from Michaels for a $1 to the front and taking apart a keychain (also from the dollar spot at Michaels and adding a little chain and there you go a very cool closure.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiPTn12e3v4SeULw_8ayU8Ry_PJN1znP_ieoYMImxL0JJ41fQBZ4zQkfVihjsc38RYtRKj2QdnmKZWQ-KGV49E5miAxUfhL4PiSYgl6rx_Rq01jqX5uqRc2XLuZGsLxa-zXfrBZuLd19g/s1600/IMG_9739.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiPTn12e3v4SeULw_8ayU8Ry_PJN1znP_ieoYMImxL0JJ41fQBZ4zQkfVihjsc38RYtRKj2QdnmKZWQ-KGV49E5miAxUfhL4PiSYgl6rx_Rq01jqX5uqRc2XLuZGsLxa-zXfrBZuLd19g/s320/IMG_9739.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> The inside is filled with lots of pockets and places to add pictures and journaling. I think I have around 40 pictures in this book.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXeHI36JW0AwzzO-cuOSzR1OXWREq7nyclR0iWHowsF1i9CjZsIEqzl1yeC8e90OSe47Ymc_J7fRY9qGDbn-wxEP_SIYNB_SDHrKdLz-0gPqmJA8C0PCD8pnL5HDQNiJsG7RL4xaj-Qn4/s1600/IMG_9740.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXeHI36JW0AwzzO-cuOSzR1OXWREq7nyclR0iWHowsF1i9CjZsIEqzl1yeC8e90OSe47Ymc_J7fRY9qGDbn-wxEP_SIYNB_SDHrKdLz-0gPqmJA8C0PCD8pnL5HDQNiJsG7RL4xaj-Qn4/s320/IMG_9740.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> I also wanted to make it very interactive so I added some embellies from Tim Holtz and journaling on the back of the tags.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglboe0o8y0-WPxyDtQiOg3vrTPsyicHFEena4pbAmDRIRbe6PIhm5QwtiZR-3mvNIaLt4dd4AbHpbzdQKUrtVQveH3FHRU46jcTgaHl4ujEfF2tP3ZClPQedh79FBOelB17T1Z8k7M2TI/s1600/IMG_9741.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglboe0o8y0-WPxyDtQiOg3vrTPsyicHFEena4pbAmDRIRbe6PIhm5QwtiZR-3mvNIaLt4dd4AbHpbzdQKUrtVQveH3FHRU46jcTgaHl4ujEfF2tP3ZClPQedh79FBOelB17T1Z8k7M2TI/s320/IMG_9741.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> This is the inside of the little pullout book above and as you can see I had room to add 2 more pictures.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxVDDKnFrGUtUDQY38zRPU7eZYDfVxfUDJNBcBGr8MG2SRUStQtUtNcSNdzyX4bAJMbeZik4JbSspnsQREpqvMi8NyMtlffNmtvWvNh1ZuiPFptcWVWLD9yLjdiJD_ZKnOgahdR0jO_Rs/s1600/IMG_9742.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxVDDKnFrGUtUDQY38zRPU7eZYDfVxfUDJNBcBGr8MG2SRUStQtUtNcSNdzyX4bAJMbeZik4JbSspnsQREpqvMi8NyMtlffNmtvWvNh1ZuiPFptcWVWLD9yLjdiJD_ZKnOgahdR0jO_Rs/s320/IMG_9742.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> I played around with different sizes of pictures in this project and I just had a blast.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXxFQH5u3EawtA2ISWR2Mk5YtBVVYweTqqOqO7Xbqe7HScm928DUztSukj6JNHyGlRvfPzif2w7wkLIp_dX5WnFiT_m90ELfTk1mvt3rg9_6jw8J1aG2rF9sGbKnnWHnDiy7pLfX5f4Kg/s1600/IMG_9730.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXxFQH5u3EawtA2ISWR2Mk5YtBVVYweTqqOqO7Xbqe7HScm928DUztSukj6JNHyGlRvfPzif2w7wkLIp_dX5WnFiT_m90ELfTk1mvt3rg9_6jw8J1aG2rF9sGbKnnWHnDiy7pLfX5f4Kg/s320/IMG_9730.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> I had to add a little lacing for my to this book to soften it up. These are actually fancy shoe laces that I found on clearance somewhere so it made it really easy to lace them on the spine of my book.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNNlCYQYa45LcPH_6xfDYcgPxSuwc3dD1U8XVAAW4I7H9uaeH_YNwduOuwO8Cg5lWcbHTszIK2Izg_0J8sK5YrX5EoLrf6_gL9rmyUdIU68e8aJJQ9k5oFh1WumnFuemblThUlpbCoyqw/s1600/IMG_9732.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNNlCYQYa45LcPH_6xfDYcgPxSuwc3dD1U8XVAAW4I7H9uaeH_YNwduOuwO8Cg5lWcbHTszIK2Izg_0J8sK5YrX5EoLrf6_gL9rmyUdIU68e8aJJQ9k5oFh1WumnFuemblThUlpbCoyqw/s320/IMG_9732.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Now I have been playing around with flower making I wanted to do something that was inspired but original. This little beauty is made up made up of some flowers I took apart and added different fabrics in between, kind of a silk flower sandwich.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1OeUdyOCtavlq0X4v_t142GTKfcW47_1XuLybtkkdJqbgaS5tgqkRIJYNB2QoagMjdhFJtCIcZPn5ugDKxVXHFD2A8mpV2AfOO0sPxTqXdBh0oe7xaDxyFS6rZPNhqnlzDwCYCzkKyBs/s1600/IMG_9737.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1OeUdyOCtavlq0X4v_t142GTKfcW47_1XuLybtkkdJqbgaS5tgqkRIJYNB2QoagMjdhFJtCIcZPn5ugDKxVXHFD2A8mpV2AfOO0sPxTqXdBh0oe7xaDxyFS6rZPNhqnlzDwCYCzkKyBs/s320/IMG_9737.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> More pockets to put little messages in and also I wanted to show how I was able to add a 5 x 7 photo inside the open part of the paper bag.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix19mwIukAY6lzBqH6djIUeeux49AZ16XoVnscbabvOSorufeyGNsvKhnqBLt-nLk4HBNFzWoTVB_v1rx0nswSAwwk1XFfnLSF0adcuDg-YfRg2WYBcfZgOPSKyRh6EW2mqc_4HjWwO_E/s1600/IMG_9738.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix19mwIukAY6lzBqH6djIUeeux49AZ16XoVnscbabvOSorufeyGNsvKhnqBLt-nLk4HBNFzWoTVB_v1rx0nswSAwwk1XFfnLSF0adcuDg-YfRg2WYBcfZgOPSKyRh6EW2mqc_4HjWwO_E/s320/IMG_9738.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> I also wrote about the picture that I have added and as you can see there is plenty of room for lots of journaling.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgx5_D8emlyn8JlDKGoaFnItYK6uMxoukn18sAK7IO6g1B9TgyZB3WBY9GkDPhB4IsWywS12d2968zkIQM2KQhXm8qsIAih0Ocf36HOwTncxiRSeJm7sFKW9HbuDi4cBMZ1n5JBsmQG2Ts/s1600/IMG_9733.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgx5_D8emlyn8JlDKGoaFnItYK6uMxoukn18sAK7IO6g1B9TgyZB3WBY9GkDPhB4IsWywS12d2968zkIQM2KQhXm8qsIAih0Ocf36HOwTncxiRSeJm7sFKW9HbuDi4cBMZ1n5JBsmQG2Ts/s320/IMG_9733.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
I found these gorgoes metal butterflies somewhere but I never had the right project for them. because this book is chunky anyway I was able to make the cover very dimentional.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiZ4O39cqqWS5DyI7l2R_G-MMuVDGWQXb7jhrQz4DzerRqvugKWca0l2Ans6FzSly7nrw2ZBfuvDrR9PLTAfi7ee7hNXXdRdJVDsqFkoS6U4L8-OujrHWIQ80mMXdp9hLGXeZV-FPLZKE/s1600/IMG_9743.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiZ4O39cqqWS5DyI7l2R_G-MMuVDGWQXb7jhrQz4DzerRqvugKWca0l2Ans6FzSly7nrw2ZBfuvDrR9PLTAfi7ee7hNXXdRdJVDsqFkoS6U4L8-OujrHWIQ80mMXdp9hLGXeZV-FPLZKE/s320/IMG_9743.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
just one of the tags I added for a little color and interest.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqol7GG1K8fu0SBQD1PseDmy1PATEUZ4PBFsa6WmFB1_lGNewLyr3xl9cEoZouWg6PjIdZAzkLUcQmq_PIZU9Fa5wsW83YwBo62Aow2Ev1d_JyAJt6Q3gKOpWVJ9ydpPwT6SBC_wzoraA/s1600/IMG_9744.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqol7GG1K8fu0SBQD1PseDmy1PATEUZ4PBFsa6WmFB1_lGNewLyr3xl9cEoZouWg6PjIdZAzkLUcQmq_PIZU9Fa5wsW83YwBo62Aow2Ev1d_JyAJt6Q3gKOpWVJ9ydpPwT6SBC_wzoraA/s320/IMG_9744.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Last but certainly not last I wanted to talk alittle about the tenique I used to make the front and back covers. I wanted a very vintage feel to this book but I couldnt find the right paper to cover it with so I found this one tutorial that showed how to make a faux leather paper using tissue paper, a little watered down glue and lots and lots and lots of inking. I could never tell you exactly how I made this because i'd ink and reink and scrunch it more until I got the right look. I will try to find the tutorial so that you can allo get some inspiration as I did.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Well thats it for now but I really appreciate you all stopping by and taking alook at my little book.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
My nephew Jeff is getting ready to walk down the aisle with his girlfriend Jeannie and last weekend was her bridal shower. Now me, being who I am, could not just give a set of tea towels as a gift so I decided to put together something that I thoughts she would cherish for a long time. Titled it "5 steps to a happy life and filled it with pictures and goodies.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrMhyphenhyphenC8IuLwvV6MAF38JVBBlV1ME0nhCCGu4D2ooFt3Vhi3R9ogKBAqOlg83sUIhXyxID5m714fEl4cHoAZMwahpOx_ub6f0LWGU25dykiEdvo67yRFilkf8qLf-j21nWt5C0L0TTJQZU/s1600/zj+005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrMhyphenhyphenC8IuLwvV6MAF38JVBBlV1ME0nhCCGu4D2ooFt3Vhi3R9ogKBAqOlg83sUIhXyxID5m714fEl4cHoAZMwahpOx_ub6f0LWGU25dykiEdvo67yRFilkf8qLf-j21nWt5C0L0TTJQZU/s320/zj+005.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The cover was simple enough, a dollar store hard cover brag book covered with black suede paper and a lovely embelly of a feather quill pin that I made using Tim Holtz pen nibs. I hot glued it on so that it was very secure. I have these shells on hand to give as last minute gifts (I make a spot on the last page for a gift card or money). The first page I generally reserve for a title of the book and in this case I added "5 steps to a happy life"<br />

One fun thing that I played around with was stamping on top of my photos I just love the dimension it adds with adding too much bulk (I do enough of that with my blings ha ha)<br />

Trust me, when you give one of these to someone you get a lot more than a thank you, you get to see the look in their eyes as they reminisce with the pictures. It's a great feeling.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglIR__RUuXKp0UzUwkZM1XX5l6neXE48E3wRKVcoq1LX2wCSn9f4KwjYXEM14bA52QBwki5dHCqpyQqFcau_1UjQswNTpkL3jXC8YQN3ceCidIwEPTNOeAXLhW9vzDRLQpYEVXGIn19v4/s1600/zj+021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglIR__RUuXKp0UzUwkZM1XX5l6neXE48E3wRKVcoq1LX2wCSn9f4KwjYXEM14bA52QBwki5dHCqpyQqFcau_1UjQswNTpkL3jXC8YQN3ceCidIwEPTNOeAXLhW9vzDRLQpYEVXGIn19v4/s320/zj+021.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> Last but not least, you can't just throw this kind of gift in a gift bag, no, you must make a statement with the wrappings. I used inspiration from one of my favorites ladies , Natasha, from <a href="http://www.moments-of-tranquility.com/">http://www.moments-of-tranquility.com/,</a> If you are ever needing a pick me go to this site. She is brilliant at putting things together and telling a story with everyone of her works of art. Well she is a master with flowers and I used some in my bow topper and I think it turned out very nice.<br />

A lot of things are changing in my world my son just entered into 7th grade and my oldest just moved out into her own place. I guess no matter what we do we can not stop the seasons from changing and time moving on. So to play off of these changes and my children growing up I decided to do a layout with my little baby girl as the star. I used alot of Tim Holtz products as always but this is my first time using <a href="http://www.dustyattic.com.au/">Dusty Attic</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">products. They are a company out of Australia that make beautiful laser die cut chippies. Trust me once you use them you'll be addicted (plus there is a wonderful gallery on their site with a lot of inspiring layouts)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisCZaOiEXGoJdgQixSCv0KY8uCVqbEIDdRn3XEVxqRfsWZ48jx3i249rhQGtV8V7su-E8JjroLdDFsp-9SmHeJBadQ1Fp7y5UotE14C8cSq89yJYVeLtRU5JqsLujlv6ou9WRxoFlTpeE/s1600/close+up+da+frame.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213px" rba="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisCZaOiEXGoJdgQixSCv0KY8uCVqbEIDdRn3XEVxqRfsWZ48jx3i249rhQGtV8V7su-E8JjroLdDFsp-9SmHeJBadQ1Fp7y5UotE14C8cSq89yJYVeLtRU5JqsLujlv6ou9WRxoFlTpeE/s320/close+up+da+frame.jpg" width="320px" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Since I am just having a major love affair with Tim Holtz products lately my layout is chock full of his Idea-logy line. someone gave me a piece of his firm strip to play around with. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I am going to be showing how I made the white flower today. I dont really have a name for it so I call it the Vellum flower.</div><br />

I made 2 at 3" and 3 more at 2 1/2, 2 and 1 /12 ". I find that when I use the half inch increments the layers turn out better.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3TMlr6XrdlderwFU4HCJ70SL2dkrfuyH9FtgPfTh-xJ_9e5yfLEYToy4XvdPbqF17s-Glq7lmdN7W98xs5hb0K9uSACguK0cY0FGB8wjMRKlNU42GaatKo35Cu_IIY6KXY8JOvJQps6c/s1600/flower+tutorial+003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3TMlr6XrdlderwFU4HCJ70SL2dkrfuyH9FtgPfTh-xJ_9e5yfLEYToy4XvdPbqF17s-Glq7lmdN7W98xs5hb0K9uSACguK0cY0FGB8wjMRKlNU42GaatKo35Cu_IIY6KXY8JOvJQps6c/s320/flower+tutorial+003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> I then took a skewer and "rolled the ends of the petals, for the 1 layer I rolled under, 2 layer I rolled towards the center of the flower and loosened up the curls. for layers 3 & 4 I repeated layer 2. For the center I placed a pencil (eraser side in center of flower) and shaped it around that. It should resemble a cup when your done.<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And to finish it off I simply glued all layers together and added a pearl from an old necklace. If you like this works great with a little glue gloss and glitter on but I am out of it currently so I painted some Stickles across the top for bling!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
